CHARLIE CHAPLIN’S BODY is a dark short comedy based on the real events surrounding the theft of comedian Charles Chaplin’s body in 1978. Shortly after Chaplin’s death, inept mechanics Roman and Gancho abduct the icon’s coffin from a Swiss cemetery and hold it for ransom. When negotiations with Chaplin’s actress daughter Geraldine and family lawyer Jean-Felix fail to go as planned, the ne’er-do-well body thieves literally find themselves stuck with Charlie. While on the run from ill-tempered Swiss Constable Paul, the action takes an unexpected twist that will keep audiences talking. Based on the award-winning one-act play, this short is a modern homage to the classic comedies from the silent and golden age of film. Beautifully shot in 5 locations and brilliantly acted by a cast with acclaimed film and television credits, CHARLIE CHAPLIN’S BODY also boasts an original jazz soundtrack.
